In the Assistant tab of Invoker Link you tell Claude in plain language what should change on your website. Claude carries it out on the server. You decide how much you want to see up front.
What are the three ways of working?
You choose the mode next to the send button. You can also switch it in the middle of a conversation.
| Mode | What happens |
|---|---|
| Ask for every change | Every file change appears as a card with the exact diff. You click Allow or Deny. |
| Apply changes automatically | File changes go through straight away. Commands that do something else still ask for permission. |
| Auto mode | Claude judges for itself whether a step is safe and only asks when in doubt. |
Reading and searching your files never asks: that doesn't change anything.
The approval card
A card shows per file which lines disappear (red) and which are added (green). Below the card are three buttons:
- Allow: this one change goes through.
- Deny: Claude is told you don't want this and looks for another way or asks what you mean.
- Allow all for this task: the rest of this instruction goes through without cards. With the next instruction Claude asks again.
Questions with choice buttons
Sometimes Claude needs information, for example "What should the new price be?". You then get buttons with the options, plus Other… to type something yourself. Your answer goes straight back to Claude.
Can you roll everything back?
Before every instruction the platform takes a snapshot of your website. Afterwards you see a summary:
- which files changed (summarised per plugin or theme for large updates),
- the full diff, if you want to see it,
- the Undo button.
Undo puts every file from that instruction back to how it was before. Database changes (such as WordPress content) are not included. For those, Claude makes a full backup first, see Restoring backups.
Which mode when?
- New to the assistant, or an important live website: Ask for every change.
- A big job whose result you'll review afterwards, such as building a new page: Apply changes automatically.
- You trust it and want speed: Auto mode. You still see every applied change afterwards as a card, with undo.
Restoring a backup asks for your permission in every mode, including auto mode.
Website connected to Git?
If your website is connected to a GitHub repository, the next push overwrites whatever the assistant changes directly in the files. In that case, change content in the repository itself.
