Say what you want. Claude handles the rest.

You built your website yourself, but you don't have time to keep up with everything. Copy one of these instructions into the Claude assistant in your hosting, change the email address, and you're done. They're instructions you wouldn't easily come up with yourself.

01 · copy

Pick an instruction and replace the example details, such as you@yoursite.com, with your own.

02 · paste into the assistant

In DirectAdmin, open Invoker Link → Assistant, pick your website and paste the instruction.

03 · watch along

You see every step. You approve changes or let them go through automatically, and roll them back with one click. How approvals work.

#Automate maintenance

Set it up once. After that your site looks after itself and you only hear about it when something needs you.

Weekly automatic updates, with rollback and alerts

Make a backup and update my entire WordPress website. Then create a script that does this automatically every Monday at 06:00: first a backup, then all updates, then check that the homepage, my latest post and the login page still work. If anything fails, roll back the updates and email me at you@yoursite.com with what happened. Put the script outside the website and do a dry run first.
mode: apply changes automatically
what claude does
  • ›makes a backup and updates everything now
  • ›places a maintenance script in ~/maintenance, not inside your website
  • ›schedules it as a cron job for Monday 06:00
  • ›does a dry run and shows you the log

note · Running a web shop, bookings or forms? Add: "never restore the database if something fails". Otherwise a restore can wipe orders placed after the backup.

A monthly health report in your inbox

Every first Monday of the month at 08:00, email me a short report at you@yoursite.com: is the site up, how fast does it load, when does the SSL certificate expire, which updates are waiting, how much disk space am I using and is there anything suspicious. Write it in plain language, not a technical list.
mode: apply changes automatically
what claude does
  • ›writes a report script using site-health and wp-suspicious
  • ›schedules it monthly
  • ›sends you a first report now as an example

An alert when your site or certificate goes down

Check every hour whether my website is reachable and whether the SSL certificate is valid for at least 14 more days. Only email me when something is wrong, at you@yoursite.com, and no more than once a day about the same problem.
mode: apply changes automatically
what claude does
  • ›creates a small check script
  • ›remembers problems it already reported, so you don't get spammed
  • ›schedules it hourly

note · This checks from the server itself. If the whole server is down it can't send email either; use external monitoring for that.

Keep your disk space tidy

Show me where my disk space is going. Clean up old log files, cache files and temporary files that can safely go, but ask me first about anything you're not sure of. Then create a monthly cleanup job for the safe categories only.
mode: ask for every change
what claude does
  • ›runs site-usage and shows the largest folders
  • ›cleans up what's safe and asks when in doubt
  • ›schedules a monthly cleanup job
#Updates and backups

Update safely without having to know what every plugin does.

Update everything, safely

Make a backup and update WordPress, all plugins and themes. After each plugin, check that the site still works and roll that plugin back if it breaks something. Then tell me in plain language what changed.
mode: apply changes automatically
what claude does
  • ›runs wp-safe-update: backup, then plugin by plugin with a check
  • ›purges the cache and checks the key pages
  • ›summarises what was updated or rolled back
Safely update WordPress →

See what's waiting first

Which updates are waiting for my website? List them and tell me for each one whether it's a security update and whether you expect anything to break. Don't change anything yet.
mode: ask for every change
what claude does
  • ›does a dry run of the updates
  • ›looks up what changes in each plugin
  • ›changes nothing

Clean up plugins and themes you don't use

Which plugins and themes are inactive or unused? Make a backup and then remove only what is really unnecessary. Keep the default theme as a fallback. Ask me when in doubt.
mode: ask for every change
what claude does
  • ›finds inactive plugins and themes
  • ›makes a backup
  • ›removes them after your OK

note · Every plugin you don't use is a door that could be left open. Cleaning up is security too.

Back to yesterday

My website looked fine yesterday and now it doesn't. First find out what changed. If you can't fix it, restore only the files from last night's backup, not the database, and tell me first what will be overwritten.
mode: ask for every change
what claude does
  • ›compares what changed
  • ›tries a targeted fix first
  • ›only restores after you confirm
Restoring backups →
#Speed

A slow site costs visitors. Let Claude find out where the time goes.

Why is my site slow?

My website feels slow. Find out why: load time, caching, PHP version, heavy plugins, large images and whether there's a lot of bot traffic. Rank the causes by impact and suggest what you would do for each one. Don't change anything yet.
mode: ask for every change
what claude does
  • ›measures load time and cache headers
  • ›looks at PHP version, plugins, images and bots
  • ›gives you a list ranked by impact

Shrink images that are too large

Find images in my uploads that are larger than 500 KB or wider than 2000 pixels. Back up the uploads folder, resize them while keeping the quality, and tell me how much space and load time it saves.
mode: apply changes automatically
what claude does
  • ›finds oversized images
  • ›makes a backup first
  • ›resizes them and reports the gain
#Security and hacks

Not sure everything is in order? Get it checked before it becomes a problem.

Is my site secure?

Check whether my WordPress site has been hacked or is vulnerable: core files, PHP files in uploads, suspicious code, unknown administrators, outdated plugins with known vulnerabilities. Explain in plain language what you find and what you recommend. Don't change anything yet.
mode: ask for every change
what claude does
  • ›runs wp-suspicious
  • ›checks plugins against known vulnerabilities
  • ›explains, changes nothing

My site acts strange: spam, redirects or an error

My website redirects visitors to another site (or shows spam). Find out why. First make a backup of the current state, then look for backdoors in the files and in the database, and only clean up what you're certain of. Explain each problem you find.
mode: ask for every change
what claude does
  • ›makes a backup as evidence
  • ›searches files, database and scheduled tasks
  • ›cleans up with an explanation for each finding

note · After a real hack, change every password afterwards (WordPress, hosting, database, FTP) and get in touch with us. Hacks often come back through a spot that was missed.

Who has access to my site?

Show all users with administrator or editor rights, with when they were created and when they last logged in, if known. Flag anything that looks suspicious. Don't delete anything without my OK.
mode: ask for every change
what claude does
  • ›lists administrators and editors
  • ›flags unknown or recently created accounts
  • ›only removes after you confirm
#Content and findability

Small changes you'd otherwise have to hunt down in the dashboard yourself.

Change text in many places at once

Our opening hours have changed to Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:30. Find every place on the website where the old opening hours appear, including the footer, the contact page and the Google data in the code, and update them.
mode: ask for every change
what claude does
  • ›finds every place, including the database and structured data
  • ›shows you every change
  • ›purges the cache

Fill in missing SEO titles and descriptions

Which pages and posts have no SEO title or meta description? Write a proposal for each page based on its content, at most 60 and 155 characters. Show them to me before you save them.
mode: ask for every change
what claude does
  • ›finds pages without a title or description
  • ›writes proposals per page
  • ›saves after your OK
#Git and scripts

For when you want to go a step further.

Connect my site to GitHub

Connect my theme folder to the GitHub repository github.com/your-name/my-theme so that a push to main goes live straight away. Explain step by step what I need to do on GitHub.
mode: ask for every change
what claude does
  • ›runs git-link with your repository
  • ›gives you the deploy key and the steps for GitHub
  • ›explains how to set up the webhook
Connect a repository →

Have your own maintenance script written

Write a script that exports my website's database to ~/exports every night at 03:00, keeps only the last 7 and emails me if it fails. Test it once and show me where everything is.
mode: apply changes automatically
what claude does
  • ›writes the script outside the website
  • ›tests it right away
  • ›schedules it and explains how to stop it again
