Claude Code works best when it runs right next to your files. On our hosting it can: in the DirectAdmin terminal and over SSH. The only thing you do once is connect your Claude account. After that, claude starts without logging in.
What do you need?
- A hosting account with SSH access (it's included in your plan).
- A Claude subscription: Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise.
- Five minutes.
How do you connect Claude? In four steps
- In DirectAdmin, open Invoker Link and go to the Claude tab.
- Click Connect Claude and then Open Claude login. A tab opens on claude.com.
- Log in with your own Claude account and click Authorize.
- You'll see a code. Select the whole line, paste it back into DirectAdmin and click Connect.
After a few seconds it says connected, along with the account and the subscription you're using.
Watch out in step 4: the code has two parts with a
#in between. A double-click often selects only the first part. Use Ctrl+A (or ⌘+A) in the code field so you copy the full code.
Does it work?
Open the terminal in DirectAdmin, or log in over SSH, and type:
claude
Claude starts logged in straight away. You don't need to type /login anywhere.
Common messages
"The code doesn't belong to this login or has already been used." A code only works once and belongs to the login attempt that produced it. Click Try again, open the login again and use the fresh code.
"This code is missing the part after the #." You only copied the first part. Copy the whole line.
"Your Claude login has expired." A Claude session can expire after a while. The Claude tab then shows Reconnect. Your settings and conversations are kept.
What happens behind the scenes?
The server logs Claude in as your own user, exactly as if you typed /login in the terminal yourself. The session is stored in your own folder and is only readable by your account. Your password never touches the server: you log in on claude.com itself.
One thing to know: websites on your account run as the same user. If you suspect a site has been hacked, disconnect Claude and get in touch with us.
How do you disconnect Claude?
In the Claude tab, click Disconnect. Claude is then logged out of your hosting account. Your Claude subscription itself simply stays active.
