Enable Claude Remote Control: your hosting from your phone

Turn on Claude Remote Control in Invoker Link and manage your website from your phone, tablet or the Claude app. How it works and what it costs.

Claude Remote Control is an always-on Claude Code session inside your own hosting account that you open from the Claude app on your phone or tablet, claude.ai/code in a browser or Claude Desktop. You switch it on per website in Invoker Link (DirectAdmin, Claude tab, Remote Control section); within a minute the session shows up in the app as "yourdomain.com · Invoker". The session runs as your own user inside your account's jail, uses about 350 MB of memory within your plan's limit, and is locked to "ask before every change": reading happens straight away, every edit is shown first and approved with a tap. No VPN, SSH or open port is involved, and the session restarts itself after a hiccup or our maintenance. Remote Control is part of Hosting Complete (€59 per month, 20 websites) and every Claude Server; you use your own Claude subscription, there is no separate bill. Flip the switch off and the session stops immediately.

What is Remote Control?

An always-on Claude Code session inside your own hosting account, which you open from the Claude app on your phone or tablet, from claude.ai/code in a browser, or with Claude Desktop. You type a question or an instruction, Claude carries it out on the server where your website already lives. No extra service, no separate subscription: Remote Control uses your own linked Claude subscription.

What do you need?

  • Claude connected to your hosting account. If that isn't done yet, do it first through Connect Claude Code to your DirectAdmin account.
  • A plan that includes Remote Control: Hosting Complete (€59 per month) or a Claude Server. It isn't included in Hosting Essential or Advanced.
  • The Claude app (phone or tablet), or a browser for claude.ai/code.

How do you turn it on? Four steps

  1. In DirectAdmin, open Invoker Link and go to the Claude tab.
  2. Scroll down to Remote Control.
  3. Pick the website you want a session for.
  4. Flip the switch on.

Within a minute the session shows up in the Claude app and on claude.ai/code, named something like "kapsalon.nieuwesite.nl · Invoker". You'll recognize it right away among your other conversations.

What do you see in the Claude app?

Open the app and tap the session for your website. It looks like an ordinary conversation, as if you're chatting with Claude. There's no separate piece of software to install: the session lives on the server, the app is just the window onto it.

Your first request

Just type what you want in your own words, for example:

"Update the opening hours on the contact page to Monday through Saturday."

or

"Is there a backup from last night?"

Claude reads your website, works out what needs to happen, and reports what it's about to do. Questions that only fetch information (like "which plugins are running?") get answered right away, without changing anything.

Approving from your phone

Remote Control defaults to ask on every change. If Claude wants to edit a file, you see it first: which lines disappear, which get added. You tap Allow or Deny. It works the same as the approval cards in the Invoker Link web interface, just on your screen while you're out and about.

Claude runs inside your own account, in your website's folder, isolated from other accounts on the same server (jail) and within the memory and CPU budget of your plan. Nothing opens up that wasn't there already: no VPN, no SSH access, no extra ports. You don't need to configure anything on your phone itself.

What can Claude do from your phone?

The same knowledge as the assistant in Invoker Link: the hosting platform, backups, WordPress, PHP, email, databases, taking screenshots, and deploying through git. Checking a site on the go, fixing a typo, or asking "why is the site loading so slowly" all work just as well as from your desk.

Stopping it

Flip the Remote Control switch off, and the session stops. Disconnect your Claude account entirely (see above) and Remote Control stops automatically too. A session that drops for any reason restarts itself: you don't need to keep an eye on it.

What does it cost?

Nothing extra. Remote Control is included in the hosting price of Hosting Complete and every Claude Server. You use your own Claude subscription, there's no separate bill.

Common mistakes

"I don't see the session in the app." Check that you're logged in with the same Claude account you connected in Invoker Link. Make sure you're looking at the right site, and give it a minute after flipping the switch.

"The Remote Control switch is missing." That means your plan doesn't include it. Remote Control is part of Hosting Complete and the Claude Servers, not Essential or Advanced. Connect Claude first through the Claude tab if you haven't yet; the section won't appear without that connection.

"I expect Claude to just make changes on its own." That doesn't happen. Every change shows up as a card on your screen first. Only reading and searching happens without asking.

"I only want to use Remote Control temporarily." That's fine: flip the switch on for the job and off again afterwards. The session stops immediately, your plan and your Claude connection stay exactly as they were.
