You are on the beach. Your phone buzzes: a customer emails that the contact form on your site no longer sends anything. That used to mean finding a laptop, finding wifi, logging into the hosting panel, FTP, log files, and an afternoon gone. From today it means: open the Claude app, pick your website, and type "the contact form no longer sends, find out why and fix it". Five minutes later there is a proposal with exactly what will change. You tap approve. Done.
That is Claude Remote Control on Invoker hosting. This article explains what it is, what you do with it, how safe it is and where the limits are.
What is Claude Remote Control?
Claude Code is Anthropic's assistant that works on a computer: reading and editing files, running commands, finding out why something is broken. Remote Control is the feature that lets you drive such a session from a distance, from the Claude app on your phone or tablet, from claude.ai in a browser, or from Claude Desktop.
We put that session where it is worth the most: inside your own hosting account, in your website's folder. It runs there all the time, even when your phone is in your pocket. Switch Remote Control on in Invoker Link and within a minute a session named after your website shows up in your Claude app. Open it and you are talking to an assistant that knows your site, your database, your mail and your backups, because it is literally sitting next to them.
Why this is different from "just logging in on my phone"
Every hosting panel has a mobile view. There you can create a mailbox or pick a PHP version, provided you know where it is and what to pick. What you cannot do is say what you want.
With Remote Control you say what you want. "Set the opening hours on the homepage to 9 to 5." "Why has the site been slow since yesterday?" "Create a mailbox info@ and forward a copy to my Gmail." The assistant works out which files or settings are involved, shows what it is going to change, and waits for your approval. Questions that change nothing, like "how much space am I using" or "which plugins are outdated", it answers straight away.
The second difference: the assistant knows your account. It knows which backups were made last night, which WordPress version is running, what the memory limit of your package is, and how to safely update a plugin with an automatic rollback on our platform. That knowledge lives in our knowledge packs, the same ones the assistant in DirectAdmin uses. You never have to explain how your hosting is put together.
Five things you handle from your phone
Restore a backup. A plugin update went wrong and the site shows a white page. You type: "Which backups are there from last night?" You get a list. Then: "Restore the files from last night 01:30, not the database." The assistant first explains what that means (all website files go back to that moment, changes since then are lost, the database stays as it is) and asks for confirmation. Only after your yes does it happen. Afterwards it takes a screenshot so you can see the site works again. The step-by-step version is in the knowledge base.
Update WordPress. "Update WordPress and all plugins." The assistant makes a backup first, updates the plugins one by one, checks after each one that the site still responds, and rolls a plugin back if it breaks something. You get a summary at the end. That is our standard way of working; you do not have to ask for it.
Fix a form. "The contact form no longer sends." The assistant looks at the logs, tests the form, finds for example that the sender address stopped matching after a mail change, and proposes a fix. You approve.
Sort out mail. "Create info@ with a strong password and forward a copy to my private address." Done in a minute, including the password you get to see once.
Speed. "Why does the homepage load slowly?" The assistant measures, looks at cache, images and plugins, and tells you in plain words what the cause is and what fixing it would gain. Sometimes the answer is: the site is already fast, this is measurement noise. Then it says so.
How safe is this?
This is the question everyone asks, and rightly so. Five things make it responsible.
- It is your account, not ours. The session runs as your hosting user, isolated from other customers on the same server, within the memory and CPU limits of your package. It cannot reach other accounts, and they cannot reach yours.
- Every change asks for your approval. The session is set to "ask before every change". You see what changes before it happens. Only reading and investigating go without a question.
- Your own Claude subscription. The session uses the subscription you linked in Invoker Link. We do not see your conversations, and we do not pay for them either.
- No open doors. There is no VPN, no SSH app and no extra port involved. The session connects outward by itself, exactly like the Claude app on your phone does.
- One switch. Turn Remote Control off, or unlink your subscription, and the session stops. Turn it back on and it is back within a minute.
And because on our platform the assistant never restores a backup without you confirming it in the conversation, and makes a fresh backup before risky changes, the damage from a wrong request is limited to: one restore.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra. Claude Remote Control is part of the Hosting Complete plan (€59 per month, up to 20 websites) and of every Claude Server, from the Solo VPS to dedicated. You need a Claude subscription with Anthropic, the same one you already use for the assistant in DirectAdmin. Hosting Essential and Advanced have the assistant in DirectAdmin, but not the always-on session for your phone.
Where are the limits?
Fair is fair. Three things you would rather not do from the beach.
- Big build jobs. Having a complete theme or a new plugin built is possible, but you want to see that on a big screen, with the preview next to it. That is what the assistant in DirectAdmin is for.
- Codex. Remote Control is a Claude feature. If you prefer OpenAI Codex, you work through the assistant in DirectAdmin. We are watching whether a comparable feature arrives there.
- Approving without reading. The approval card exists to be read. Anyone who taps "yes" without looking might as well not have had a switch.
How to start
- Link your Claude subscription in Invoker Link, in DirectAdmin. Here is how.
- Go to the Claude tab, pick your website under Remote Control and flip the switch.
- Open the Claude app on your phone. Your website is in the list. Type what needs to happen.
The full guide is in the knowledge base. And if you do not have Hosting Complete yet: the plans are here, and we handle the move.
We have been using this ourselves for months on our own servers. The first time you fix a production problem from a terrace by simply asking, you understand why we put it in the package.
